Guru Nanak Eye Center

Guru Nanak Eye Centre is a premier ophthalmic institute in the capital of India, providing comprehensive eye care services to the residents of Delhi, the National Capital Region, and nearby states. Conceived in 1971, its first wing, the OPD block, became operational in 1977, establishing it as a dedicated centre for advanced eye care. The centre has six ophthalmic units, with two units each posted in the OPD, wards, and operation theatres to streamline patient management and treatment. The OPD block has ten cabins functioning simultaneously each day, with twenty-four doctors conducting detailed ophthalmic checkups. The facility also offers refractive error testing using auto-refractometers, binocular vision testing, and orthoptic eye checkups, ensuring accurate diagnosis and management. Routine investigations, including tonometry, blood pressure monitoring, and syringing, are carried out in the minor operation theatre room to facilitate quick and effective care for patients.

Guru Nanak Eye Centre operates 24x7 emergency services, ensuring immediate medical attention for eye emergencies at any hour. During OPD hours, the centre also conducts medical examinations for candidates seeking government and other posts, along with routine and special medical boards.
