Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences

The Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), located in Dilshad Garden, Delhi, is a premier tertiary care facility specializing in mental health and neurosciences. Established in 1993, it operates as an autonomous body under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and is funded jointly by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Government of NCT of Delhi. IHBAS serves as the State Mental Health Authority of Delhi and is affiliated with the University of Delhi, offering postgraduate courses in psychiatry, neurology, and clinical psychology.

The hospital provides comprehensive services in psychiatry, neurology, and behavioral sciences, employing a multidisciplinary approach that includes clinical, social, and basic sciences. Its facilities encompass inpatient and outpatient services, emergency care, diagnostic laboratories, and specialized clinics for conditions such as epilepsy, mental retardation, and drug abuse. IHBAS also operates a Mobile Mental Health Unit to extend services to underserved populations.
