Vaccine Overview

Cabergoline tablets USP

Cabergoline is a potent dopamine agonist used to treat disorders caused by excess prolactin, such as prolactinomas and other forms of hyperprolactinemia. It reduces prolactin secretion by directly stimulating dopamine D2 receptors in the pituitary. Compared to bromocriptine, cabergoline has a longer half-life and better tolerability, requiring less frequent dosing. It can restore menstrual cycles, libido, and fertility in affected individuals. It is usually well tolerated but may cause dizziness, nausea, or heart valve issues with long-term use, requiring periodic echocardiographic monitoring.

Drug Class: Pharma Products

Indication: Used to lower prolactin levels and manage prolactinomas, as well as treating symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
