Menotrophin is a gonadotropin preparation containing both follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) activity. Sourced from human urine and highly purified, it is used in infertility treatment for controlled ovarian stimulation. It helps stimulate the development of multiple ovarian follicles in women undergoing assisted reproductive procedures like IVF. Administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly, dosage varies based on individual response. It is also used in men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism to stimulate spermatogenesis when combined with hCG.
