Rotavirus Vaccine, (Live Attenuated Oral), (Liquid)
The Rotavirus Vaccine (Live Attenuated Oral) I.P. (Oral) is an oral vaccine designed to protect against rotavirus, a leading cause of gastroenteritis in infants and young children. Administered orally, this vaccine is available as a liquid formulation. It is given in a series of two or three doses starting at 6-8 weeks of age, with subsequent doses spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. The vaccine significantly reduces the risk of severe diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration caused by rotavirus infections.
Drug Class: Viral Vaccines
Indication: ROTASIIL-Liquid is indicated for active immunization of healthy infants from the age of 6 weeks for the prevention of gastroenteritis due to rotavirus infection when administered as a 3-dose series. The three-dose regimen should be completed by one year of age.
