Vaccine Overview
Rabies Vaccine, Human I.P. (Freeze-dried)
The Rabies Vaccine, Human I.P. (Freeze-dried), is used to prevent rabies infection in both children and adults. It can be administered as pre-exposure prophylaxis in high-risk individuals (e.g. veterinarians, animal handlers), or as post-exposure prophylaxis following potential contact with a rabid animal. The vaccine contains inactivated rabies virus and helps the body develop protective immunity. It can be given intramuscularly (1 ml) or intradermally (0.1 ml) depending on the clinical protocol. RABIVAX-S is suitable for primary immunization or booster doses, and a simplified two-dose schedule is recommended for previously immunized individuals who are re-exposed.
