Vaccine Overview

Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis Vaccine (Adsorbed) I.P.

The Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis Vaccine (Adsorbed) I.P. is a combined immunization used to protect against three serious bacterial infections: diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough). It contains inactivated toxins (toxoids) of the diphtheria and tetanus bacteria, and killed or inactivated pertussis organisms. Administered via intramuscular injection, it stimulates the immune system to develop protection without causing disease. The vaccine is typically given in multiple doses during childhood as part of national immunization programs and may require booster doses. It is generally safe with mild side effects like swelling or fever.

Drug Class: Bacterial Vaccines

Indication: Indicated for infants above the age of six weeks and of pre-school children against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough).
