Vaccine Overview

Pentavalent 2

The Pentavalent 2 vaccine is administered to infants at 10 weeks of age as part of the routine immunization schedule. This combination vaccine protects against five serious diseases: Diphtheria, Pertussis (whooping cough), Tetanus, Hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib). Given as a 0.5 ml intramuscular injection in the antero-lateral thigh, it strengthens the immunity provided by the first dose (Pentavalent 1) and ensures continued protection against these life-threatening infections. Pentavalent 2 is part of the essential vaccination series for preventing preventable diseases in infants.
