The Oral Polio Vaccine – 1st dose (OPV-1) is given to infants at 6 weeks of age as part of the routine immunization schedule. Administered orally, this vaccine strengthens the immune response initiated by the birth dose (OPV-0) and helps provide continued protection against all three strains of the poliovirus.
