Scheme Description

The Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana (MA Yojana) is a health insurance scheme launched by the Government of Gujarat to provide financial protection against high medical expenses for the economically disadvantaged sections of society. Introduced in 2012, this scheme aims to offer cashless healthcare services for a range of critical health conditions, including hospitalization, surgeries, and treatment for major illnesses like cancer, kidney disease, heart disease, and more.

Under the scheme, families below the poverty line, including those holding BPL cards or identified under the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC), are eligible to avail free medical treatment. The program provides insurance coverage of up to ₹3 lakh per family per year, with cashless treatment available at over 2,000 empaneled hospitals across the state.

The scheme also covers pre-hospitalization, post-hospitalization, and day-care treatments, reducing the burden of high medical costs on low-income families. Additionally, families are provided with a smart health card which can be used at any participating hospital for availing medical services.
