Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana (MAAY)

The Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana (MAAY), previously known as the Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana (MCSBY), was launched by the Government of Rajasthan on May 1, 2021. The scheme was renamed in February 2024 to reflect its expanded benefits and objectives. It aims to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage to economically vulnerable families in the state, reducing out-of-pocket medical expenses and improving access to quality healthcare services.

Under MAAY, eligible families receive cashless health insurance coverage of up to ₹25 lakh per year, which includes treatment for over 1,798 medical procedures, such as surgeries, hospitalization, diagnostics, and post-hospitalization care. The coverage also extends to organ transplants, COVID-19 treatment, and critical illnesses like cancer, heart diseases, and neurological disorders. The scheme is applicable to both government and empaneled private hospitals across Rajasthan.

Eligibility for the scheme includes families registered under the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011, holders of National Food Security Act (NFSA) cards, small and marginal farmers, contractual workers in government departments, and families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. For these beneficiaries, the scheme is free of cost. Other residents can avail of the scheme by paying a nominal annual premium of ₹850, with the remaining premium subsidized by the state government.
