Scheme Description

Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojna (AAUY) is a health insurance scheme launched by the government of Uttarakhand to provide financial protection and improve access to healthcare for the residents of the state. The primary aim of the scheme is to ensure that the economically vulnerable and underprivileged sections of the population receive high-quality healthcare without facing financial hardship. It is a state-specific initiative modeled after similar national schemes like Ayushman Bharat but tailored to meet the unique healthcare needs of the people of Uttarakhand.

Under AAUY, eligible families can avail of free treatment for a wide range of medical conditions, including hospitalization, surgeries, diagnostic tests, and specialized treatments. The scheme covers both government and private empaneled hospitals. It is particularly focused on people from lower-income backgrounds, those without health insurance, and those living in remote or rural areas with limited access to healthcare facilities.

The scheme offers cashless treatment, reducing the financial burden on families, and promotes preventive healthcare by offering health check-ups and awareness programs. By expanding healthcare coverage and improving access to medical care, AAUY aims to enhance the overall health and well-being of the state's population, contributing to a healthier and more equitable society.
