Scheme Description

Delhi Arogya Nidhi (DAN) is a financial assistance scheme launched by the Government of Delhi under the Directorate General of Health Services. The scheme aims to provide financial support to economically weaker sections of society, especially those suffering from life-threatening diseases, by offering up to ₹1.5 lakh for medical treatment. This assistance is available exclusively for treatment at Government hospitals in Delhi.

To be eligible for the Delhi Arogya Nidhi, the patient must possess a National Food Security Card and be a resident of Delhi for the last three years. The patient must also undergo treatment at a Delhi Government hospital. The scheme is designed to ensure that people from low-income families have access to necessary medical interventions without the burden of high treatment costs.

The application process is offline. Applicants must download the application form from the official website, fill it out, and submit it along with the required documents, including proof of residency, National Food Security Card, treatment estimates from the hospital, and photographs. The completed application should be submitted to the Patient Welfare Cell at the Directorate of Health Services office in Karkardooma, Delhi.

Eligibility

  • National Food Security Card: The patient must possess a National Food Security Card.
  • Residency in Delhi: The patient must have been a resident of Delhi for the last 3 years prior to the application date.
  • Treatment at Government Hospitals: The patient must be undergoing treatment at a Delhi Government hospital or one approved by the government.
  • Income Verification: While the scheme does not specify a strict income limit, the eligibility is generally aimed at individuals from low-income backgrounds.
  • For Minors: If the patient is a minor, the birth certificate and the parent’s or guardian's proof of residency are required.

Documents Needed

  • Proof of Continuous Residency in Delhi for the Last 3 Years: (National Food Security Card, Electoral Voter’s Photo Identity Card, Birth Certificate (if the patient is a minor), Extract from the Electoral Roll, Aadhaar Card)
  • Original Estimate Certificate: Signed by the Consultant/Medical Superintendent/Chief Medical Officer of the hospital.
  • Photographs: Two passport-sized photographs of the patient, attested by the treating doctor.
  • Copy of the National Food Security Card.
  • Treatment Records: Photocopies of the treatment records from the hospital.

Application Process

  • Fill Out the Application: Complete the application form with all the required details.
  • Attach Necessary Documents: Attach photocopies of all the required documents with the filled application form.
  • Undertaking Submission: The applicant must sign an undertaking for signature verification as mentioned in the application form.
  • Submit the Application: Submit the completed application form along with the required documents to the Patient Welfare Cell, Directorate of Health Services, 6th Floor, F-17, Karkardooma (Near Karkardooma Court), Delhi-110032.
  • Document Verification: Bring the original documents for verification at the time of submission.
